The Anti-boredom Campaign will create novel resources and share ideas to inspire adults feeling bored to get curious with ways to keep the mind active about other things…
Simple themes can get everyone started…
Doodling – everyone can doodle! Just put pen on paper and see what happens… Let yourself be surprised. We’ve been creating giant doodles comparing and looking at each other’s doodles. They’re a great talking point and fun to do together or by yourself.
Origami – it can take a bit of learning but is so much fun to bring yourself and others a new experience and the challenge of changing a flat piece of paper into a 3D shape. We are sharing a different Origami fold each week through films and live folds every Wednesday at 2pm to bring connection and joy. An excellent adult activity allowing focus, learning, emergence and delight.
Nature – we are part of an immense universe, and beauty can be found at every scale. We’ve been using a bit of meteorite to spark conversation and wondering about space and how tiny we are… Also images at the microscopic scale be surprisingly beautiful. Even viruses are beautiful! Also celebrate our changing seasons – from seeds to flowers, and printing from autumn leaves.
Nature connects us with being outside, with the beauty in everything.
“if you open your eyes everything you look at is a miracle”
Anti-boredom booklet – to come to download…
Ideas – what to bring someone in hospital to help? Why not bring more than just grapes with creative box, and so many wonderful books and materials out there…
There will be so much to come with funding… Watch this space!
